LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

Nebius Group (NBIS) stock fell 7.78% on Wednesday as investors took profits following a massive 218% rally over the past year, despite broader market gains. Technical indicators show short-term bearish momentum with the stock trading below its 20-day and 50-day moving averages, though the long-term uptrend remains intact. Analysts maintain a consensus Buy rating with an average price target of $232.08, ahead of Q2 earnings reports on August 12.

Nebius Group N.V. (NASDAQ:NBIS) stock fell on Wednesday as investors continued to unwind positions after the stock’s sharp rally earlier this year. The decline came even as the broader technology sector traded higher.

The Nasdaq gained 0.51%, the S&P 500 added 0.15% and the Technology sector rose 0.56%.

Nebius remains up 218.41% over the past 12 months. Such strong gains can leave momentum stocks vulnerable to sharper pullbacks when buying interest slows.

Market breadth remained slightly positive, with six sectors advancing and five declining. The advance-decline ratio stood at 1.2. Energy led the market with a 2.10% gain, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.01%.

Technical Picture Weakens

Nebius continues to hold above its long-term trend, but its intermediate trend has weakened.

The stock trades 19.7% below its 20-day simple moving average of $200.17 and 28.4% below its 50-day SMA of $224.31. However, it remains 14.2% above its 200-day SMA of $140.68.

The moving average convergence divergence indicator remains below its signal line, while the histogram is negative. That suggests bearish momentum continues to outweigh buying pressure.

The 20-day SMA has also moved below the 50-day SMA, a bearish short-term signal. However, the 50-day SMA remains above the 200-day SMA, indicating the longer-term uptrend is still intact.

The stock reached its 52-week high of $299.86 in June before establishing a more recent swing low in July.

Key resistance stands near $168.50, while support is around $132.50, just above the 200-day moving average.

Earnings And Analyst Outlook

Nebius is scheduled to report second-quarter results on Aug. 12.

Wall Street expects the company to report a loss of 73 cents per share, compared with a loss of 38 cents a year earlier. Revenue is projected to surge to $576.67 million from $105.10 million.

The stock trades at about 65.5 times earnings, reflecting a premium valuation.

Analysts maintain a consensus Buy rating with an average price forecast of $232.08. Recent actions include:

  • Baird initiated coverage with an Outperform rating and a $250 price forecast on July 22.
  • Northland Capital Markets reiterated Outperform and raised its price forecast to $410 on July 20.
  • Freedom Capital Markets upgraded the stock to Buy and increased its price forecast to $200 on July 20.

Benzinga Edge Ratings

According to Benzinga Edge, Nebius carries a Momentum score of 98.6, reflecting its strong long-term performance despite the recent correction.

Its Value score is 5.22, indicating the shares remain expensive relative to traditional valuation metrics. That combination suggests the stock could remain volatile until momentum stabilizes.
