Intel fell 4% even after reporting second-quarter revenue of $16.1 billion, up 25% from a year earlier, and adjusted earnings of 42 cents per share that beat expectations. Tenet Healthcare rose more than 16% after posting second-quarter adjusted earnings of $6.12 per share and revenue that both beat estimates, while SAP gained 8% after cloud backlog increased 27% year over year to 22.9 billion euros and revenue came in at 9.88 billion euros. American Express slipped 5% after missing second-quarter revenue estimates, and Verizon Communications rose 3% after reporting an earnings beat, a revenue miss and full-year guidance above expectations.
