Context

I bought S-REITs because I wanted exposure to property income and a more stable source of dividends. I was thinking about building a long-term portfolio and taking advantage of the relatively attractive yields.

My trade

I opened a position in S-REITs as a long-term investment, mainly for dividend income and diversification. I decided to start with a manageable position rather than committing too much capital at once, since interest rates and property-market conditions can still affect REIT performance.

Takeaway

Next time, I would compare valuations, debt levels, and distribution yields more carefully before buying.

$Suntec Reit(T82U.SG)

The Context: 

The prices of reits have come under pressure lately due to the increased probability of a rate hike. Some of my friends saw it as an opportunity to buy at a more attractive price and dividend yield while others are adopting a wait-and-see approach. Then the yield of the 10-year Treasury fell in reponse to Governor Waller’s speech which was interpreted by the market as support for maintaining the interest rate in September but this is contingent on the inflation data showing signs of deflation.

Subsequently, the August job data report showed a stronger than expected figure for non-farm payroll jobs which made the yield go up.

My Trade: Maintain while watching for an opportunity to add more.

Takeaway: News can have a pronounced short-term impact on stock prices but expectations can change quickly. For long term value investors, if the convictions and fundamentals haven’t changed drastically, there is no need to panic and do reactive trades.

$Keppel DC Reit(AJBU.SG)

Context: With AI and cloud computing driving strong demand for data center infrastructure, Keppel DC REIT continues to benefit from this and is able to deliver steady distribution growth and strong operational performance. This Reit is a compelling candidate for me, for my income-focused dividend portfolio.

My trade: Opened a long position to secure a reliable dividend payout stream. I chose Keppel DC REIT for its portfolio, strong occupancy rate, and high-quality data center assets that generate dependable, recurring distributions over the long term.

Takeaway: Going forward, I will monitor for market volatility and will add more near key technical support levels to secure a higher yield-on-cost.

$SpaceX(SPCX.US)Context: SpaceX has been an interesting position to watch, especially with all the attention around its future growth and space business.

My trade: I’m still holding my SpaceX position and watching how the price develops. There have been some ups and downs recently, but I prefer to stay patient rather than react to every short-term move.

Takeaway: Not every investment needs constant action. Sometimes holding and giving the investment more time is the better choice, especially when the longer-term story is still interesting. @Captain's Treasure

$PUBLIC FIN HOLD(00626.HK)

Context: I am going to talk about a not so popular HK stock, Public Finance Limited Bank which has the market capitalization of HK$2 billion. It is not listed as the top tier bank in Hong Kong. The parent company is Public Bank Berhad which listed in Malaysia and is the 3rd largest bank in that country. This bank offer finance with it's subsidiary Public Bank HK offering the depositing service$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)$Netflix(NFLX.US). The performances of this bank is not great:

2025: profit, HK$79.65 million

2024: loss, ~HK$999.39 million

2023: profit, HK$14.38 million

2022: profit, HK$328.70 million

2020: profit, HK$396.90 million

My trade: on 20th Aug, the share of this bank was halted and has yet to resume as of now

Takeaway: official announcement point to a major corporate exercise but unofficial information show that it will be privatised by it's parent company from Malaysia

$UOB(U11.SG)I invested in UOB and have been monitoring its performance after the recent dividend payment. The stock price has shown a slight increase following the dividend payout, which is encouraging. My personal target is for UOB to reach around SGD 43–44 per share by the end of 2026. Hopefully, if the price reaches a good level, I can sell and lock in a reasonable profit. This is only my personal investment sharing and not financial advice.

$Sheng Siong(OV8.SG)

Context:

I’ve always liked Sheng Siong for its defensive business and steady demand. But after holding it for a while, I felt the stock had reached a level where the upside wasn’t as attractive to me anymore.

My trade:

I decided to sell my position and take the profit off the table. Nothing against the company — I just wanted to free up some capital for other opportunities that I think have better potential from here.

Takeaway:

Sheng Siong is still a solid business in my view, but a good company doesn’t always mean it’s a good buy at every price. Sometimes taking profit and waiting for a better entry makes more sense. 🛒💰

Context

I bought S-REITs a few days ago because I wanted to start building exposure to the REIT sector and add a potential source of dividend income to my portfolio. Before entering the trade, I was thinking about the longer-term potential of REITs and how they can provide regular distributions while also giving me exposure to property-related assets.

Since this was a new position for me, I was also interested in seeing how the price behaves after my entry rather than trying to predict the exact bottom. I knew that the price could move around in the short term, so my main focus was on the overall investment thesis rather than reacting to every daily price movement.

My trade

I opened a position in S-REITs a few days ago. I decided to enter because I wanted to establish an initial position and gain exposure to the sector instead of continuing to wait for a supposedly perfect entry point.

My thinking was that starting with a position would allow me to participate if the sector performed well, while I could still reassess the position later based on price movements, dividend yields, interest rates, and the underlying performance of the REITs.

I didn't want to make the trade purely based on short-term price movements. The main reason for entering was the longer-term potential of the sector and the income component. At the same time, I recognise that REITs can be sensitive to interest rates, financing costs, property valuations, and broader market sentiment, so the position still needs to be monitored.

Takeaway

Next time, I would define my entry price, position size, target allocation, and conditions for adding or trimming the position more clearly before making the trade, rather than figuring out the plan after I have already entered.

$Keppel(BN4.SG)

Context: From a technical basis, Keppel continues to look good, with the 14-day RSI at 54. I want to see whether RSI can sustain its bounce back above 50, signalling that buying pressure is building.

My trade: Holding my position and watching whether sustained momentum can push the stock towards another leg higher.

Takeaway: Technicals remain constructive, further bolstered by capital flows into Singapore equities. I’m watching for sustained buying pressure to take Keppel higher.

$UOB 5xLongSG261217(W9AW.SG)context: UOB has had a strong run recently and my leveraged position benefited nicely from the upward move.

My trade: I’m still holding my UOB 5xLong position, currently up 61.29%. This has turned out much better than I initially expected, so I’m happy to keep holding for now while watching the momentum closely.

Takeaway: This trade reminds me that a good entry combined with patience can really pay off, but with leveraged products I still need to stay disciplined and protect the profit if momentum changes. @Captain's Treasure

$TE Connectivity(TEL.US)

Context: TE Connectivity continues to consolidate firmly in the 200–205 range as institutional flows rotate through the hardware and electrification space. Underlying fundamentals and backlog demand for high-speed AI connectivity remain steady, providing good underlying support during this sideways trading range.

My trade: Maintained position / Prepared profit targets — I am holding my current allocation steady without chasing new entries, setting tiered limit sell orders near recent resistance levels to trim and lock in partial gains if the stock pushes higher.

Takeaway: Defining clear profit targets during quiet consolidation phases removes the emotion from exiting into strength when a breakout happens.

$Keppel DC Reit(AJBU.SG)

Context:

I bought Keppel DC REIT mainly for the data centre growth story and the potential for stable recurring income. But after the recent move up, I felt it was a good time to reassess my position.

My trade:

I decided to sell and lock in my gains. I still like the long-term data centre theme, but at the current price, I felt the upside was less attractive compared with the risk. I’d rather take some profit now and look for another entry if the price comes back down.

Takeaway:

Selling doesn’t mean I’ve changed my view on data centres. Sometimes it’s just about taking profit when the risk-reward no longer looks as attractive. I’ll definitely keep Keppel DC REIT on my watchlist. 📈

Context

Takeaway

Next time, I would spend more time comparing different S-REITs, especially their debt levels, distribution yields, and property exposure, before deciding which one to buy.

$Sembcorp Ind(U96.SG)

Context: Sembcorp has some near-term earnings pressure, but Alinta and the expected 2H recovery provide potential catalysts.

My trade: I progressively bought it when the prices were below 6.

Takeaway: HOLD, I won't add aggressively. The average is already below the current market area and gives a reasonable margin of safety. If Sembcorp falls toward S$5.50–5.60 without a fundamental deterioration, I'd be more interested in adding. If it reaches S$6.80–7.30, I'd start considering taking some profit rather than waiting indefinitely for an even higher price.

$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)

Context: Cathie Wood's ARK Invest trimmed its stake in AMD, the chipmaker that is Nvidia's rival in the race to build artificial intelligence chips and data center processors. On Aug. 28, ARK sold 156,286 shares of AMD for approximately $72.8 million at the closing price on that day. Meanwhile, the company bought 243,707 Nvidia shares for over $53 million. The linked transactions make the move more remarkable.

Meanwhile, Nvidia has also officially announced the acquisition of Hugging Face, sending the stock up 2%.

My Trade: I'm looking at a $210 to $240 range for swing trades. Recent key support and resistance levels are slightly elevated following strong earnings and Nvidia's strategic acquisition moves.

Takeaway: ARK seems to be doubling down on AI infrastructure. Instead, the firm is parking money between chipmakers as investors assess Nvidia's commanding position against AMD's ability to get more share in accelerators and server CPUs. @Captain's Treasure

$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)The earnings reaction was surprisingly muted at first, but Jensen’s stronger long-term guidance completely changed the mood and sent NVIDIA sharply higher. It reminded me how quickly expectations can reset with one conference call.

I used the rally to trim part of my position. Honestly, I don’t have much desire to add more here—NVIDIA feels increasingly like a mature market leader, and it’s becoming harder to find meaningful alpha at these valuations.

This week reinforced one lesson: don’t confuse a great company with a great trade. Sometimes taking partial profits is the more disciplined decision.

Context: Real estate investment managers in Singapore are maintaining stable price support, backed by resilient fee-income revenues and private fund management growth.

My trade: Holding 1,000 shares of CapitaLandInvest (9CI) at an average cost of 2.500 SGD, preserving a steady unrealized profit of +6.40% as a primary growth driver in the Singapore portfolio.

Takeaway: Next time, I will establish structured profit-taking price targets to scale out partial profits into strength as the counter tests key resistance levels.

$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)Context: NVIDIA has been performing well and the recent momentum has pushed my position nicely into profit.

My trade: I am still holding my NVIDIA position, currently up 10.16% with an average cost of 208.582. I’m happy with the gain so far and still bullish on NVIDIA, so I plan to continue holding rather than taking profit too early.

Takeaway: A good entry and some patience can make a big difference. I’ll keep watching the momentum and let the winner run for now. @Captain's Treasure

👏 This was a disciplined and defensible short-term trade. You captured a positive return while avoiding a highly uncertain earnings announcement. The main trade-off was opportunity cost: you secured a smaller but certain gain instead of accepting the risk of a much larger post-earnings move in either direction. From a trading and risk-management perspective, the decision was sound.

⚠️ However from a strategic perspective (position trade), if Broadcom would beat expectations and reinforce the AI growth story, then you exited before the thesis could fully play out. In that sense, the trade captured the setup but not the catalyst.

$iShares Semiconductor ETF(SOXX.US)

Context: Major semiconductor firms continue to drive AI infrastructure expansion. SOXX has demonstrated some strength recently especially yesterday and closed in green despite Broadcom shares fell after earnings. Broadcom revenue surged 86% last quarter showing solid demand.

My trade: I continue to hold onto my long position in SOXX to gain broad exposure to tech and semiconductor sector. Choosing SOXX lets me capture the semiconductor ecosystem across the various key chipmakers without concentration risk.

Takeaway: I will continue to hold on to high conviction stocks and ETF despite volatility if the fundamentals and story are still intact.

$Microsoft(MSFT.US)

1️⃣ Since day1 I have been trading this stock simply cos I uses their products and like their support is excellent. The stock initially weakened with the broader tech selloff, falling well below my entry at one point. However strong FY26 results, accelerating Azure growth, AI adoption, and record cloud revenue helped drive a sharp recovery through the summer. By early Sept, shares had climbed above $500.

2️⃣ I chose to close on 3/9/26 because the stock had gained about 14% from my last purchase, had recovered strongly after earnings and was approaching analyst target ranges, making it prudent to lock in profits rather than risk a pullback.

3️⃣ MSFT remains support the d by AI demand, Azure’s growth, and expanding Copilot adoption. Most analyst sentiment remains bullish, but after the rapid run up to around USD510, near term gains may be more moderate and volatility is possible. The longer term trend still appears positive if AI monetisation continues as expected.

$Arm(ARM.US)

Context: What keeps me interested in Arm isn’t the AI hype. It’s how deeply the architecture is already embedded across the industry. Switching away is possible, but after decades of building around it, it’s neither easy nor cheap. That stickiness matters more to me than the hype.

My trade: I bought higher than I should have, so I’m still in the red. But my entry price doesn’t change what the business is worth from here. The thesis hasn’t changed for me, so I’m holding. I’m not adding just because it’s down either.

Takeaway: The market doesn’t care where you bought. What matters is whether the reason you bought still holds. For me, ARM still does.

$Lululemon(LULU.US)

Context: Once upon a time LULU was a strong growth story (and I like the brand) but the stock has struggled as sales and brand momentum weakened. The latest results showed further pressure on the business.

My trade: I sold my position earlier in the year after a rebound for a small profit. Looking back, I’m glad I didn’t try to hold through the deterioration.

Takeaway: This experience reinforced an important lesson for me: for long-term investing, I want to focus on businesses with strong and durable moats. A good brand can still lose momentum and I would rather concentrate my long-term holdings in businesses with stronger competitive advantages.
