The State Administration for Market Regulation guided the China Cuisine Association, the China Chain Store and Franchise Association, the China Hotel Association, and online food delivery platforms to issue an initiative to curb food waste during the Spring Festival. The industry associations urged restaurant operators to fulfill their primary responsibilities, adhere to civilized operations, innovate service concepts, and jointly build a civilized dining environment; to integrate the concept of "practicing thrift and opposing waste" throughout the entire process of food service, achieving precise procurement, scientific storage, moderate processing, and reasonable meal preparation, improving processing techniques, and continuously enhancing dish quality. The initiative also called on consumers to rationally consume, order appropriately, and pack leftovers during business banquets, family gatherings, weddings, and when booking New Year's Eve dinners, based on the number of diners, dining needs, and eating habits, actively practicing the "Clean Plate Campaign" and serving as demonstrators of "cherishing food and opposing waste."
