HuaJin Securities: Lithium metal anodes may become an important driver for breakthroughs in solid-state battery energy density, with multiple parallel routes for preparation processes

Huajin Securities released a research report indicating that lithium battery anode materials are undergoing a transition from traditional graphite to high energy density systems. The theoretical specific capacity of lithium metal anodes is 3860mAh/g, significantly higher than that of graphite and silicon-carbon anodes. The combination of solid-state electrolytes and lithium metal anodes helps to improve energy density. The preparation process of lithium metal anodes faces challenges such as volume expansion and lithium dendrites, leading to a parallel development of multiple technical routes in the industry, mainly including rolling methods, vapor deposition methods, and others
