The French CAC 40 index closed down 0.06% at 7,969.88 points.
The Italian FTSE MIB index closed down 0.33% at 44,741.34 points, while the FTSE Italy All-Share Banks Index closed up 0.44%.
The UK FTSE 100 index closed down 0.94% at 10,305.29 points, the FTSE 250 index closed down 0.48%, and the FTSE 350 index closed down 0.90%.
The Dutch AEX index closed down 1.27%, the Danish OMX Copenhagen 20 index closed down 1.35%, and the Copenhagen 25 index closed down 0.84%
