The government has re-tendered for bottled water for offices on Hong Kong Island and the outlying islands, with Swire Coca-Cola winning the bid
The Government Logistics Department re-tendered the bottled drinking water supply for government offices on Hong Kong Island and the Outlying Islands at the end of last year. The latest announcement shows that the new contract was awarded on the 17th of this month, with the winning contractor being Swire Coca-Cola Hong Kong. The contract involves 1.4645 million bottles of drinking water, with a warehouse price of approximately HKD 31.92 million.
Last year, the government originally awarded the bottled drinking water contract to Xin Ding Xin Trading Company, involving an amount of approximately HKD 52.94 million, which was later revealed to be counterfeit water, leading to an immediate termination of the contract and a re-tendering process. The new tender includes several additional requirements, including that bidders must be manufacturers of drinking water and have at least 10 years of sales experience, and that manufacturers must also accept on-site inspections and financial approvals
