Boao Forum for Asia Annual Report: Economic growth in the Asia region is expected to be 4.5% this year
According to a report by China Securities Journal, the Boao Forum for Asia released its annual report, predicting that the weighted real economic growth rate in the Asian region will be 4.5% this year, down from last year's 4.7%.
Zhang Yuyan, Dean of the School of International Political Economy at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, pointed out that last year's report had predicted a 4.5% overall economic growth for Asia, and the actual performance exceeded expectations, demonstrating the strong resilience of the Asian economy. Zhang also noted that achieving the expected growth rate this year under the current global economic situation is also a remarkable performance.
The report shows that the share of Asian economies in the world economy continued to rise last year, with the expected share in current US dollars increasing from 36.1% last year to 36.3% this year; in terms of purchasing power parity, it is expected to rise from 49.2% last year to 49.7% this year
