Chinese rare earth producers hike prices by 44% for Q2

Chinese rare earth producers have increased prices by 44% for Q2 2026, with China Northern Rare Earth and Baotou Steel raising the price of rare-earth concentrate to 38,804 yuan per metric ton. This significant hike reflects tightening supply and China's control over the rare earth market. The demand for these materials remains strong due to their use in EVs, wind turbines, and electronics. Following the announcement, Baotou Steel's shares rose by 8.5%, while China Northern Rare Earth and China Rare Earth Resources & Technology saw increases of 3% and 2.5%, respectively.
