Today, China's first 10,000-ton pure electric intelligent container ship, the "Ningyuan Diankun," departed from Ningbo-Zhoushan Port bound for Jiaxing Port, officially commencing commercial route operations. This marks that coastal container transport in China has formally entered a new development phase characterized by all-electric propulsion and intelligent navigation. The "Ningyuan Diankun" measures 127.8 meters in total length and can store approximately 20,000 kWh of electricity; after entering service, it is expected to reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1,400 tons. The vessel's intelligent system captures navigation environment data in real time, automatically calculates optimal sailing paths, proactively identifies and avoids navigation risks, and reduces the probability of human operational errors.
