AI deployment has ‘stalled’ for most Asia companies: report

A report by Singapore Technologies Telemedia Global Data Centres reveals that AI deployment in Asia is facing significant challenges. While 90% of organizations have begun adopting AI, 70% struggle to scale pilots into production. Only 16% have a robust operational AI strategy, and 1% have fully embedded AI. Companies cite budget constraints and infrastructure limitations as major hurdles. The study highlights a divide between mature markets like Singapore, Japan, and South Korea, and emerging markets such as Malaysia and Indonesia, both facing similar challenges. 72% of organizations anticipate growth in AI workloads, but lack the necessary infrastructure.
