According to information from the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), the domestically first 10MeV (mega-electron volt) ultra-compact medical cyclotron independently developed by the China Institute of Atomic Energy has recently achieved beam output, with all key indicators meeting design specifications. This accelerator is capable of producing various commonly used short-lived medical isotopes, including fluorine-18, gallium-68, and carbon-11. It features outstanding advantages such as compact size, low lifetime cost, and convenient maintenance. As a critical piece of equipment responding to the national nuclear medicine "one department per county" strategic deployment, it can effectively meet the preparation requirements for short-lived isotope drugs to be produced locally and used immediately, providing important technical support for promoting the miniaturization and practical transformation of medical cyclotrons.
