
Japanese and South Korean stock markets opened higher and closed higher, with Japanese stocks continuing to hit new highs.
According to Gate data, the Nikkei 225 index closed up 3320.72 points, or 5.58%, at 62833.84 points on Thursday, May 7, setting a new record high. The South Korean KOSPI index closed up 105.48 points, or 1.43%, at 7490.04 points on Thursday, May 7.
