<div id="readability-page-1"><div><p>The Cyberspace Administration of China said via its official WeChat account &#34;Wangxin China&#34; today (8th) that the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission issued the &#34;Negative List for Algorithms of Life Service Platforms (Trial)&#34; in January this year. Cyberspace authorities in multiple regions across Mainland China have swiftly taken action, urging key platforms in food delivery, ride-hailing, freight, online shopping, online travel and ticketing sectors to benchmark against the &#34;Negative List&#34; and conduct in-depth self-inspection and rectification.</p><p>The article noted that platforms including Meituan, Taobao Flash Sale, Taobao Tmall, JD.com, Didi Chuxing, Amap, T3 Chuxing, Baidu, Manbang, Huolala, Pinduoduo, Douyin, Trip.com and Qunar have actively responded. They have implemented 63 optimization measures, committed to complying with 139 algorithm-related requirements, and are advancing 125 initiatives within a specified timeframe, achieving initial results in enhancing algorithm transparency, fairness and reasonableness.</p><p>The report stated that improvements have been made in order allocation algorithms, time estimation algorithms, safety protection algorithms, commission algorithms, pricing algorithms, complaint handling and algorithm transparency. Regarding optimization of order allocation algorithms, orders are now prioritized for nearby assignment, unreasonable differentiated dispatching is resisted, limits on simultaneous orders have been set, and rider autonomy and choice have been enhanced. Meituan Food Delivery, Taobao Flash Sale and JD.com Food Delivery provide at least four unconditional order rejection or transfer opportunities per day for different types of riders.</p><p>In optimizing time estimation algorithms, more flexible delivery time windows have been introduced. Meituan Food Delivery, Taobao Flash Sale and JD.com Food Delivery now display estimated delivery times in time-slot format on the consumer side. Overtime penalties have largely been abolished. Meituan has taken the lead in canceling overtime fines, Taobao Flash Sale has achieved full coverage of overtime penalty exemptions, and JD.com Food Delivery is gradually reducing direct deduction penalty measures.</p><p>In improving commission algorithms to safeguard workers' remuneration, Didi Chuxing has lowered its commission cap from 29% to 27% and launched the &#34;Rebate Bao&#34; program to automatically refund the portion of average monthly commissions exceeding 25%. Amap has reduced the upper limit of its ride-hailing information service fee to 9%. Platforms including Didi Chuxing, T3 Chuxing, Huolala and Manbang have pledged not to pass marketing costs onto drivers, stating that various promotional incentives offered to users will not reduce drivers' freight income.
