PPC Energie rolls out Romania’s first zero-cost electricity scheme

Romanian power supplier PPC Energie has launched Romania's first zero-cost electricity scheme, offering free electricity during specific hours to households with smart meters. The pilot project, available to the first 5,000 eligible consumers, runs from June to September and allows customers to benefit from approximately 70 hours of free electricity each month. The initiative aims to promote solar energy consumption and digital energy infrastructure. Customers can reduce their bills by using appliances during these zero-cost hours, although taxes and tariffs will still apply. PPC Energie plans to evaluate the program's success after September.
