Earnings Take Center Stage
Micron’s upcoming results are likely to shift attention back to artificial intelligence demand, memory pricing and margins.
Wall Street expects Micron to report earnings of $31.45 per share, up from $3.03 a year earlier. Revenue is expected to jump to $51.05 billion from $11.31 billion.
Bank of America analyst Vivek Arya reiterated a Buy rating on Micron on Sept. 22 and maintained a $1,550 price forecast.
Arya said the biggest issue heading into earnings is not memory pricing. Micron typically does not provide forward pricing guidance.
Instead, he is watching whether management indicates gross margins can remain in the mid-80% range through fiscal 2027.
Arya said margins at that level could support fiscal 2027 earnings of $150 to $200 per share. That would more than double earnings from the current fiscal year.
It could also leave Micron trading near seven times forward earnings. Arya said the company has historically sustained a multiple closer to 10 times.
