President Trump will meet Tuesday with oil and gas executives at the White House and is expected to discuss how to expand U.S. refining capacity as part of an effort to lower gasoline prices, according to a White House official.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright will head to Venezuela later Tuesday, days after the nation entered into a 25-year deal to acquire majority U.S. control of more than 65 million barrels of Venezuelan oil.

He said on Sunday that he plans to encourage leaders to reexamine their relationship with China. Bessent also ruffled feathers Monday among European counterparts by inviting and meeting with Russia’s finance minister.

Meanwhile, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has scheduled conversations with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang in Chapel Hill, N.C., to discuss global innovation in artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies.
