Beach Energy ( (AU:BPT) ) has issued an update.

Beach Energy and joint venture operator Santos have approved the Moomba Central Optimisation project in South Australia’s Cooper Basin, committing about $250 million in capital over three years to overhaul and centralise the region’s gas compression and power infrastructure. The plan replaces seven ageing compressor stations with a single electric-driven hub, aims to debottleneck upstream facilities, extend field life and lower development costs, while targeting more than $400 million in lifetime operating and sustaining capital savings and reducing Scope 1 emissions as Beach reinforces its role as a key East Coast gas supplier.

The project’s modernised and centralised setup is designed to improve facility availability, cut fuel use and support future renewable integration into the system, enhancing production recovery and margin on gas sold under East Coast domestic contracts. By prioritising existing Cooper Basin sustaining capital to fund the rollout, Beach seeks to deliver sustainable cost reductions and an optimised drilling strategy that boosts conversion of contingent resources to reserves, strengthening its competitive position and contribution to Australia’s energy security.

The most recent analyst rating on (AU:BPT) stock is a Buy with a A$1.50 price target. To see the full list of analyst forecasts on Beach Energy stock, see the AU:BPT Stock Forecast page.
