AI Risk Debate Sparks Tech Stock Rotation
The global debate over artificial intelligence risks intensified this week as tech executives split over whether frontier labs should slow development, according to Bloomberg. Leaders of Anthropic, OpenAI, SpaceX and Google DeepMind backed self-regulation checks on growth that give AI models more control, while Microsoft, Amazon and Meta said they are developing tools to check, control and regulate AI risks. US President Donald Trump called the alerts a "hoax". Investors rotated out of tech stocks at the start of the week as they questioned whether the pace of the AI buildout needs repricing.
