Ping An continues to "sweep up" shares of state-owned banks, with its stake in Agricultural Bank of China H shares exceeding 5%
According to the latest information from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, on January 7, Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China, Ltd. increased its holdings in Agricultural Bank of China by 31.678 million shares, at a price of HKD 4.2216 per share, for a total amount of approximately HKD 134 million. After the increase, the latest number of shares held is approximately 1.553 billion shares, with a latest holding ratio of 5.05%.
Data from Wind Information shows that in the previous month (from December 9, 2024, to January 8, 2025), Ping An and its subsidiaries made multiple purchases of H-shares from major state-owned banks such as Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Postal Savings Bank of China, and Agricultural Bank of China. During this period, there were a total of 5 increases in holdings for Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, with the number of shares increased reaching 446 million shares
