Tesla Stock Gains As European Demand Boosts Q3 Deliveries

LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

Tesla shares rose nearly 5% after Q3 deliveries of 486,532 vehicles exceeded estimates, driven by rebounding European demand. Despite production falling short of expectations, the positive delivery figures boosted investor sentiment ahead of the October 22 earnings report.

Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) shares are trading higher by almost 5% on Friday as investors react to third quarter 2026 production and delivery figures during a broadly risk-on session.

Details

Production rose to 464,391 vehicles in the quarter from 447,450 vehicles in the third quarter of 2025 versus Visible Alpha’s estimate of 486,761.

Meanwhile, deliveries declined slightly to 486,532 vehicles from 497,099 vehicles in the prior-year quarter but were above the 456,896-vehicle estimate.

Model 3/Y production totaled 457,387 units, with deliveries of 478,237 units, while other models recorded production of 7,004 units and deliveries of 8,295 units.

In addition, the company saw energy storage deployments of 13.7 GWh versus 12.5 GWh in third quarter of 2025.

According to Bloomberg, the company is benefiting from a rebound in European demand that offset the loss of U.S. tax incentives and increased competition in China.

TSLA Technical Outlook: Key Levels And Trend Signals

From a longer-term trend view, the stock is still working back from a weak 12-month stretch (down 15.19%) and remains below its bigger trend gauges, trading 1.5% below the 100-day SMA ($376.27) and 5.7% below the 200-day SMA ($393.18). That overhead supply matters because rallies often stall as longer-term holders use those moving averages to reduce exposure.

Nearer term, price is improving: Tesla is trading 1.6% above the 20-day SMA ($364.82) and 6.7% above the 50-day SMA ($347.57), and the 20-day SMA is above the 50-day SMA (a constructive short-term crossover). The catch is the "death cross" from April (50-day below the 200-day), which keeps the bigger-picture trend in "prove it" mode until the stock can reclaim and hold above the 200-day area.

Momentum-wise, MACD is the cleaner lens right now because it speaks to trend follow-through: MACD being below its signal line with a negative histogram suggests upside pressure is cooling versus the prior upswing unless buyers can re-accelerate. That lines up with the idea that Tesla can bounce, but it may need a decisive push through overhead resistance to turn the move into a sustained trend.

  • Key Resistance: $384.00 — a nearby round-number zone that also sits in the neighborhood of the 100-day/200-day moving-average "overhang," where rallies can stall
  • Key Support: $354.00 — a nearby pivot area just above the 50-day SMA ($347.57), where dip-buyers may try to defend the recent uptrend
