LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

Taiwan Semiconductor (TSM) shares rose 2.64% to $471.32, nearing a 52-week high, driven by Broadcom's plan to secure up to $60 billion in financing for AI chip purchases and Samsung's decision to triple HBM4 memory prices. These developments signal intense demand in the AI infrastructure sector, benefiting TSM as a key manufacturer for industry leaders like Broadcom and Nvidia.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (NYSE:TSM) shares are trading higher Friday along with the broader chip sector, lifted by Broadcom’s plans to arrange up to $60 billion in financing for AI chip purchases.

Broadcom Arranges Up to $60 Billion in AI Chip Financing

Broadcom has enlisted a group of banks to put together close to $60 billion in fresh financing, according to a Bloomberg report Friday. The money would give companies like Anthropic more firepower to buy chips and other computing gear. Lenders are lining up a $42 billion senior-secured portion of the deal. Blackstone is heading up a separate $18 billion junior-debt piece, putting in $9 billion of its own money and farming out the remaining balance to other investors.

The arrangement would hand Anthropic and similar AI firms room to expand their computing resources. At the same time, it would boost sales of Broadcom’s own chips and data-center gear as the company jockeys for position against Nvidia. Broadcom declined to comment when asked about the report.

Samsung Plans to More Than Triple HBM4 Memory Prices

Samsung is pushing a steep price increase for its next-generation HBM4 memory, according to people familiar with the matter. The company is quoting customers prices in the mid-to-high $4 range per gigabit for 2027 supply deals, a roughly threefold increase from the roughly $1.50 per gigabit charged for its current HBM3E chips, Maeil Business reported.

Samsung’s reasoning centers on raw performance. Its HBM4 chips can hit transfer speeds as fast as 13 gigabits per second, a mark nobody else in the industry has matched. The company intends to turn that technical edge straight into higher prices, especially as the broader memory market pivots away from competing purely on volume and toward competing on capability.

Why These Developments Are Lifting TSM

Both stories share a common thread: demand across the AI chip world remains intense. That matters directly for TSM, which manufactures chips for both Broadcom and Nvidia as the industry’s largest contract chipmaker. Broadcom’s financing hunt signals that AI infrastructure spending shows no signs of slowing, and much of that spending eventually flows back to TSM’s factories.

Samsung’s pricing power tells a parallel story on the memory side, where tight supply and strong demand are letting manufacturers charge more. Together, these developments reassure investors that chipmakers up and down the supply chain, TSM included, still have room to grow alongside the broader AI buildout.

TSM Shares Are Climbing

TSM Price Action: Taiwan Semiconductor shares were up 2.64% at $471.32 at the time of publication on Friday. The stock is trading near its 52-week high of $479.00, according to Benzinga Pro.
