General Motors is set to report third-quarter earnings before the bell Tuesday. Wall Street expects adjusted EPS of $3.63 and revenue of $48.70 billion, marking a roughly 30% increase in EPS compared to last year's $2.80. Investors will focus on whether GM raises its 2026 guidance amid concerns over slowing sales and rising costs, as well as updates on new truck launches and software growth.

DETROIT — General Motors is set to report its third-quarter earnings before the bell Tuesday.

Here is what Wall Street is expecting, according to average estimates compiled by LSEG:

  • Earnings per share: $3.63 adjusted estimated
  • Revenue: $48.70 billion estimated

Those results would mark relatively flat revenue compared with a year earlier and a roughly 30% increase in adjusted earnings per share. GM's 2025 third-quarter results included $48.59 billion in revenue, net income attributable to stockholders of $1.3 billion and earnings per share of $2.80 adjusted.

Investors will be watching to see if GM raises its 2026 guidance and for any early indications of expectations for next year, which Wall Street expects will be difficult for the U.S. automotive industry.

"While we expect in-line to slightly better 3Q26 prints, investor focus is likely to be on 2027 revisions and we don't see results driving meaningful upside," JPMorgan analyst Rajat Gupta said in an Oct. 11 investor note.

Wall Street analysts are mixed on whether GM, which has regularly raised guidance during the year, will do so Tuesday amid concerns of slowing sales and rising commodity costs.

GM raised its 2026 forecast when reporting second-quarter results to include adjusted earnings before interest and taxes of between $14 billion and $16 billion, or $12 and $14 adjusted EPS. Its forecast for adjusted automotive free cash flow is between $9.5 billion and $11.5 billion.

Aside from results and guidance, investors will be watching for updates on the company's launch of redesigned full-size pickup trucks, its warranty improvements and any notable growth in GM's software and service operations.
