Microsoft Launches New AI Model That Makes Decisions 35 Times Faster Than GPT-6 Sol

LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

Microsoft launched Microsoft-Decision-1, an AI model claiming to make decisions 35 times faster than GPT-6 Sol. Priced at $0.042 per million input tokens, it targets quick choices in predefined options. Internal tests show significant speed and cost advantages for Xbox and Copilot teams. Wall Street analysts maintain a Strong Buy consensus on MSFT stock with an average price target of $586.14.

Tech giant Microsoft (MSFT) introduced a new artificial intelligence model on Friday called Microsoft-Decision-1, which the company says can make decisions 35 times faster than OpenAI's GPT-6 Sol. It also performed 4.5 times faster than rival decision model Quyet-1.0-Large in Microsoft's tests. The company said that its model achieved the highest accuracy in a comparison involving 36 benchmarks and nearly 150,000 questions. Microsoft is pricing the service at just $0.042 per million input tokens, with no charge for output tokens.

Unlike traditional AI chatbots that generate detailed responses, Microsoft-Decision-1 is designed to make quick choices between predefined options. For example, a company could use it to sort customer requests or determine which technical problems need attention first. It can also check whether another AI system's response meets certain quality standards.

Although these tasks seem simple, they become more important when AI systems must complete several steps before finishing a job. Each decision adds time, so a faster model could help companies complete tasks more efficiently.

Microsoft Is Already Testing Decision-1 in Its Products

Interestingly, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that the company is already testing the technology internally for technical incident response and quality control. One example comes from Microsoft's Xbox research team, which used the model to analyze more than 10,000 customer comments and reviews.

Microsoft said that the system delivered results comparable to GPT-6 Sol while operating more than 14 times faster and at 200 times lower cost. The company's Copilot team also tested Decision-1 to evaluate AI-generated responses. In those tests, Microsoft said that the model delivered competitive results at approximately 100 times the speed of another advanced AI model.

Microsoft-Decision-1 is available through Microsoft Foundry, and the company plans to make it available through OpenRouter.

Is MSFT Stock a Buy, Sell, or Hold?
