According to Sina Finance, people familiar with the matter said Korea Investment Corp. plans to sell part of its private equity stakes worth more than $1 billion. The people said the sovereign fund has hired PJT Partners as adviser for the transaction. The people, who asked not to be identified because the information has not been made public, said discussions are still at an early stage and deal terms may change. PJT Partners declined to comment, and Korea Investment Corp. has not yet responded to inquiries. As of the end of 2025, the sovereign wealth fund managed $232 billion in assets and had a 10-year annualized return of 7.07%. More than 78% of its portfolio was allocated to traditional asset classes such as equities and fixed income, with the rest invested in alternative assets including private equity and real estate. An Evercore report showed that secondary private equity transactions have gained popularity in recent years, with deal volume reaching a record $121 billion in the first half of this year. Rising interest rates and slower capital deployment have driven growth in secondary transactions, while investors have also used sales of private equity stakes to adjust portfolios amid a weak exit market.
