Azure, Copilot and Maia Drive AI Growth

Microsoft recently introduced its custom Maia 300 inference chip, reinforcing its push to improve AI infrastructure efficiency and expand its in-house computing capabilities.

The company also reported fiscal-year Azure revenue above $100 billion, with growth exceeding 41% year-over-year.

Paid Copilot seats surpassed 30 million, pointing to broader enterprise adoption.

BNP Paribas Sees Second AI Monetization Layer

BNP Paribas analyst Stefan Slowinski said Microsoft is moving beyond infrastructure-led AI revenue toward additional monetization through its OpenAI economics and consumption-based Copilot pricing.

He highlighted those areas as potential sources of upside.

Slowinski models Azure growth of 46% in fiscal first-quarter 2027 and 49% in the second quarter. BNP Paribas also estimates Copilot consumption could add about one percentage point to Microsoft 365 Commercial Cloud growth by the fiscal fourth quarter.

The firm maintained an Outperform rating and raised its Microsoft price target to $604 from $549.

Cramer Points to Copilot Momentum

CNBC’s Jim Cramer also identified Microsoft as one of the major AI winners helping offset pressure from higher interest rates.

“Here, I think there’s tremendous distortion caused by some very big winners, namely NVIDIA Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA), Microsoft and Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:META),” Cramer said.

He cited improving sentiment around Copilot as a key Microsoft catalyst.

Ignite Could Be the Next Catalyst

Slowinski also highlighted Microsoft Ignite as a potential catalyst.

CEO Satya Nadella is expected to address investors at a Financial Community Briefing on Nov. 17, which Slowinski said could provide more detail on Microsoft’s next phase of AI-driven growth and recent business re-segmentation.
