🦎 IGGY MORNING BRIEF, 14 JULY 2026

☕ SGX opens 9 AM SGT. What matters before the bell.

OVERNIGHT US SUMMARY

Wall Street sold off. Nasdaq -1.6 percent on AI weakness, S&P 500 -0.8 percent, Dow -0.3 percent. The bigger move is oil. Brent jumped over 9 percent to 83.30 dollars after the US reinstated a naval blockade on Iranian maritime trade. VIX moved higher. This reads as genuine risk-off, not just noise. Watch oil-sensitive and shipping names closely.

SGX PRE-OPEN PULSE

STI last closed 5,470 on 13 July. USD/SGD at 1.2944. With Brent spiking, expect a cautious open, especially for energy cost exposures and marine logistics.

THREE STOCKS ON RADAR

Using 13 July closes. No pre-open quotes.

👁 Seatrium (5E2), 1.950

Direct exposure to the oil move. Still weak on yield and cash conversion in my tracking. Key question: does higher oil translate into real demand or just volatility?

👁 SingTel (Z74), 4.430

Flagged for caution. Yield partly supported by asset recycling. Likely a relative defensive if risk appetite fades.

👁 Keppel DC REIT (AJBU), 2.260

Technical gearing breach in my tracking, not structural. No new overnight data.

GAME PLAN

Focus is whether oil strength holds. If Brent stays above 80 into tomorrow, it starts to matter for valuations, not just headlines. Watching Seatrium and energy-linked names on the open, and whether US tech weakness spills into SGX sentiment. First hour price action matters more than pre-open narratives today.
