$Sembcorp Ind(U96.SG)

Context: Sembcorp has some near-term earnings pressure, but Alinta and the expected 2H recovery provide potential catalysts.

My trade: I progressively bought it when the prices were below 6.

Takeaway: HOLD, I won't add aggressively. The average is already below the current market area and gives a reasonable margin of safety. If Sembcorp falls toward S$5.50–5.60 without a fundamental deterioration, I'd be more interested in adding. If it reaches S$6.80–7.30, I'd start considering taking some profit rather than waiting indefinitely for an even higher price.

Context:

Sembcorp benefits from Singapore’s energy‑transition plans, renewable‑energy growth and stable utility cash flows, but is exposed to commodity price swings, interest‑rate risks and construction‑project delays.

My trade:

I hold Sembcorp Industries with an average cost of SGD 5.862 per share.

Takeaway:

Sembcorp has defensive utility‑style cash flow plus renewable‑growth upside, but it is sensitive to interest rates and macro conditions. I should watch its quarterly earnings, dividend policy and long‑term energy‑transition progress; always manage position size and be prepared for share‑price volatility.

$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)

Context:

The AI infrastructure story therefore remains intact. Dell's latest results are also a good external confirmation: its AI-server orders are booming, and those servers heavily use NVIDIA GPUs.

My trade:

I would HOLD / ACCUMULATE on meaningful dips, rather than chase at $220+.

Takeaway:

NVDA remains one of my strongest long-term AI holdings, but I wouldn't aggressively buy at $217.

My preferred strategy is to hold existing shares → add around $200–205 → add more around $185–190 → aggressively add below $170.

$Sembcorp Ind(U96.SG)

Context:

50% of Sembcorp is held by Temasek. Sembcorp Industries is no longer just a traditional Singapore utility. The investment story is increasingly about energy transition + power demand from data centres/AI + international expansion.

My trade: Closed. It's my third biggest holdings in Sg market, after banks only.

Take away: Singapore's data-centre expansion means demand for reliable electricity should remain strong. Sembcorp already has around 1GW of contracted power load associated with this demand.

That gives Sembcorp exposure to the AI boom without having to buy an AI semiconductor stock.

$Alphabet(GOOGL.US)

Context:

Alphabet (GOOGL) is around 345. The recent pullback is mainly about concerns over huge AI infrastructure spending and rising capex, rather than a deterioration in the core business. At the same time, Q2 was very strong: revenue grew 24%, Search grew 17%, YouTube Ads 13%, and Google Cloud jumped 82%, with Cloud backlog reaching $514B.

Analysts remain broadly bullish. The current 12-month consensus target is around 428, with a range of roughly 340-515. Recent targets include $410 from Rosenblatt, $425 from Barclays, $440 from Roth and $465 from BMO.

My trade:

Currently about my cost price.

Since the position is already around breakeven, I would hold. I would only add aggressively if GOOGL falls toward 325. Above $380, I would stop chasing and let the position run.

Takeaway:

Hold. I like GOOGL here for a medium/long-term position. The AI capex is the main risk, but the underlying business is still accelerating—especially Cloud and AI monetisation.

I would treat 400 as the first meaningful profit taking checkpoint and 425-450 as the area where I'd consider selling 20-30%, rather than selling everything.

$Palantir Tech(PLTR.US)PLTR's fundamentals are genuinely exceptional:

Q2 2026 revenue was $1.94B, +93% YoY, beating estimates.

EPS was $0.41 vs $0.34 expected.

U.S. commercial revenue grew 149%.

The problem is valuation, not the business. Around $170+, PLTR is trading at roughly 100x+ forward earnings and ~67x sales.

If PLTR corrects toward $140–150, I'd be much more interested in adding. If it goes to $200 without a corresponding earnings upgrade, I'd become more cautious.

$HSTECH 7xLongSG271216(SYHW.SG)If it breaks above 5,000 and holds, I would also consider adding, because that would indicate stronger momentum.

The main reason I like HSTECH at these levels is that you get exposure to Tencent, Alibaba, Xiaomi, Meituan, JD, SMIC and other Chinese technology companies without having to pick individual stocks.

I'd treat it as a higher-risk growth allocation, not as a replacement for the DBS/OCBC-type dividend holdings.

$Sembcorp Ind(U96.SG)There are several reasons I still like the medium-term story. FY2025 underlying net profit was about S$1.0 billion, renewable capacity continued expanding, and roughly 80% of its contracted Singapore portfolio was locked in for five years or longer, giving some earnings visibility. The FY2025 dividend increased 9% to 25 cents/share. Analysts also expect the dividend to rise to around 27 cents, according to FT consensus.
