Panasonic notified clients it will hike tantalum capacitor prices by up to 30% from Feb. 1, 2026, media report, as passive component prices continue to rise amid the buildout in AI data centers. China’s FengHua and Taiwan’s Yageo have also announced price hikes recently. China’s top passive component maker, FengHua Advanced Technology (FHAT), notified clients of price increases for inductors, varistors and thick-film resistors as it passes along higher silver prices, media report, noting other companies may raise prices for the same reason. Prices for MLCCs, the most widely used passive component in end devices are not likely to rise because demand for consumer electronics remains muted.
