$Nokia Oyj(NOK.US) Sold it, sold it! Lost 5k! The investment bank gave you a price target of eight dollars, and there's at least half a year of breaking-in period! Might as well go buy Motorola in the US! After all, a Finnish company can't make America strong!!!

Over 80% of Motorola's revenue comes from police departments, defense departments, and personal security departments.

This is also why I often say that reading financial reports is very important; don't decide whether to buy a stock based on simple life experience.

The time spent researching whether a stock is worth buying should not be less than the time spent researching whether a new phone is worth buying.

If you don't have much time, then don't buy individual stocks, especially those below mid-cap. If you have a little time, you should spend at least 5-10 hours on each stock, reading financial reports, research reports, earnings call Q&As, and management biographies in detail. Ideally, you should spend 20-50 hours to have a better chance of selecting an excellent and mispriced stock.

If you can do this, your stock-picking success rate won't be lower than 90%. In fact, it's no exaggeration to say that my personal stock-picking success rate is generally maintained above 85%. On average, I can only pick one company worth buying out of every 20, and I spend enough effort researching the fundamentals, reading research reports, investigating the management's past decision-making style and business logic, recent years' business expenses and returns, and so on, too many to list.

Demand of yourself as a professional investor, research a company in meticulous detail, and only then can you do as you please without overstepping the bounds.
