LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

EV stocks surged today, with Tesla up 8%, Rivian 7%, and Lucid 11%, driven by a broader tech market rebound and optimism ahead of Q2 delivery reports. Tesla's rise was bolstered by Elon Musk's announcement of a new FSD update and positive comments on SpaceX ties, alongside Barclays' higher delivery forecast. Rivian and Lucid gained via sympathy trading, supported by analyst insights on Rivian's R2 launch and upcoming catalysts.

EV stocks are moving sharply higher today, reflecting confidence in the long‑term EV story. Tesla (TSLA) jumped about 8%, while Rivian (RIVN) and Lucid (LCID) climbed 7% and 11%, respectively. The move comes as the broader tech market rebounds and investors grow more upbeat ahead of the second-quarter delivery reports.

After last week's heavy tech sell-off, the market has flipped back to a risk‑on tone. The tech-heavy Nasdaq-100 (NDX) bounced back significantly, lifting high-beta and growth stocks across the board. EV makers, which tend to move quickly when sentiment shifts, are leading today's rally.

Company-Specific Reasons

TSLA's upside can also be attributed to CEO Elon Musk's post on X (formerly Twitter) that Tesla is rolling out its latest Full Self‑Driving (FSD) update to Tesla owners with AI3 hardware. The new version should help boost adoption of Tesla's $99‑per‑month FSD subscription, a key high‑margin software product.

Musk also shared upbeat comments about deeper ties between Tesla and SpaceX (SPCX), which helped lift investor confidence.

The rally comes just days before Tesla's Q2 delivery report. Momentum picked up after Barclays projected Tesla will deliver around 418,000 vehicles, well above the broader Wall Street estimate of 396,000.

Rivian and Lucid Rise in Sympathy

Rivian and Lucid are climbing on a classic sympathy trade, helped by the broader EV rebound.

Rivian also drew attention after Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Andres Sheppard reiterated a Neutral rating and $19 price target. Sheppard highlighted Rivian's recent R2 launch, noting the $57,990 starting price and the lower‑cost $44,990 version coming in 2027. He expects R2 demand to grow thanks to better pricing and new autonomy features.

The analyst also pointed to several upcoming catalysts, such as initial R2 customer deliveries in Q2, Uber's (UBER) $300 million investment, Rivian's RAP1 chip rollout, and launch of Autonomy+ Eyes Off features.

Sheppard believes Rivian's AI‑driven, customer‑focused autonomy strategy could improve unit economics and help the company capture meaningful EV market share over time.
