The market is still so expensive and I don’t think it is a good idea to buy at this point. I rather be safe so I am staying defensive.

$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)

Nvidia has been stronger all of a sudden in the past week. She has been lagging the tech market to be honest and made her higher high only last week. Better late than never some may say. But it’s quite worrying when the market darling and leader is not showing strength.

I believe the upcoming earnings have a part to play. However, I am cautious looking at the overall market and will stay defensive.

Looks like Singapore is very much an important cog of the AI supply chain and the exports data shows that clearly. As well Singapore is considered friendly to the US so that should support our GDP.

Week 4 - Staying defensive

To recap, the market has rallied too far ahead of itself in my opinion such that the valuations are overstretched to say the least. It needs a breather and I think cash or at least defensive names like gold are the safest place to be in at this point of time.

Week 3 - No Changes to Portfolio

There has been no changes to my portfolio ever since the last post. Even though there were tailwinds to the market especially the tech sector with the US visit and tech did rally in the earlier part of the week, I decided not to participate.

Make up Chance for Week 1 - My Portfolio Health Check

I am sharing this for the 1 make up chance for the first week I missed for this event. So I will put up two posts this week, one for week 3 and one for week 4 to catch up.

@Bridge Buzz SG

$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)

Nvidia has been the pioneer and the poster boy for AI in general. And the US visit to China which saw a huge delegation of diplomats including the president and his entourage of top office holders as well as countless of the head honchos of the most important big caps of the world including Nvidia’s CEO was heralded as a courting mission to mend ties and possibly more investments into US.

However, seems like Nvidia is not getting much tailwind and the CEO looks happy going around China like a tourist.

Nvidia’s earnings will be looked forward to next week.

$Apple(AAPL.US)

Apple has been trending up for several years, ever since the turn of the century in fact. Now that is pretty impressive.

And she has made another all time high this week. How much higher can she go? I think Apple will pull back pretty much soon and she might go back to the 200 levels.

@Bridge Buzz SG

The market has been going up and looks like it keeps doing so. But I am still cautious and prefer not to join the FOMO club. Stay defensive.

$AMD(AMD.US)

AMD has been going strong the past month or so. She is a strong company and will benefit from the inference phase of AI. However, a great company does not mean buy at whatever price. As much as everyone wants a good discount, that applies to companies also.

So I think the price has gotten ahead of itself thanks to FOMO and people who cannot wait who keeps bidding price up. Remember that the stock market is a transfer of wealth from the impatient to the patient ones.

I prefer better prices so I shall wait. Patience is a virtue.

@Bridge Buzz SG

The market looks so strong but when you look deeper, it’s all on the surface. Only a few names are carrying the market and it’s quite easy to actually prop them up. I am staying defensive.

$Apple(AAPL.US)

Apple is a name that does not need introduction. It has been a household name ever since it made the smartphones its thing and of course it is also well known for other quality products such as the Macbook etc.

However, it has been lagging the other tech powerhouses and I believe it is because the market is not convinced that she is keeping up with the AI rollout.

@Bridge Buzz SG

This market is either really bullish or are trapping the bulls. With prices so elevated and the charts looking so parabolic, I am being extra cautious. Still being defensive.

$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)

I would like to talk about Nvidia today. I like Nvidia as I think it is one of the best in the AI scene as well as THE pioneer. However, ever since she burst on the scene with ChatGPT fronting the headlines, many has made adjustments and jumped on the bandwagon.

So now Nvidia has to do more to stay as the leader and not be left behind. Having said that, I think Nvidia is here to stay.

@Bridge Buzz SG

The market has moved up so much and so fast. I think there is too much FOMO and not much value left in the market. Maybe it’s wiser to step aside and stay defensive.

When will Iran and US just put a stop to all the bickering especially the US who just cannot stop imposing their ways on others. Use all that money spent on war for the better good! Isn’t that better?!
