Today we have set out how we’re building AI to accelerate science and improve people’s lives. Just some examples in the last week or so:

- Mapped all 9B possible single letter genetic changes across the human genome with AlphaGenome Atlas and made it openly available to researchers.

- Billions of decisions depend on weather predictions so we introduced WeatherNext 3, our most accurate and capable global weather AI model to date.

- We published AI & Economy ATLAS, a comprehensive open-access look at how people are using AI globally.

- AI has enabled extraordinary advances in language translation. Today our services are available in nearly 300 languages, spoken by 7B people

We’re focusing our efforts on four key areas: health, natural disaster and weather resilience, learning, and economic opportunity.

We’re also introducing Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, our most capable cybersecurity model. It shows frontier-level performance in discovering vulnerabilities and patching them at scale, with Flash-level speed & pricing.

That includes achieving 86.2% on the important CyberGym industry benchmark, plus 47.2% on CWE-Bench for patching. We saw a 70%+ success rate in discovering vulnerabilities across 20 programming languages on our internal benchmark.

Today we’re introducing a new 3.8 Flash model, our 3rd Flash release in just 6 wks.

It delivers significant leaps from 3.7 Flash across software engineering, agentic tasks, and multi-step reasoning. On DeepSWE v1.1, it outperforms most larger frontier models in autonomously solving complex engineering problems end to end, at a fraction of the cost.

Just shared some changes we’re making to the teams at @GoogleDeepMind.

@DemisHassabis is stepping up to become Chair of @GoogleDeepMind & Chief Scientist of Alphabet, in addition to leading @IsomorphicLabs. He’ll be able to dedicate his time and focus on shaping the future of AGI and scientific discovery. It’s work that is vitally important to Alphabet and humanity, and I can’t imagine a better person than Demis to do it. He’ll stay closely connected to Koray and the GDM teams.

@Koraykv will become the SVP, @GoogleDeepMind, responsible for all aspects of model development, GDM research, and @Geminiapp & dev teams. Koray has been at GDM for 13 years and is a world-renowned expert in the field, starting our deep learning team and driving breakthroughs like WaveNet & DQN. GDM is in great hands!

Q2 was an amazing quarter, with our AI investments redefining what’s possible across every part of our business.

Alphabet revenue grew 24% YoY and Google Cloud accelerated to 82% growth. We saw exciting momentum across the board from Search to YouTube to the Gemini app (which reached 950M monthly active users). Our model APIs are processing 22B tokens/min (up from 16B+ last quarter) driven by our workhorse Flash models. We’re also seeing great adoption of Gemini Enterprise, used by 90% of the Fortune 100, as well as strong demand for our security solutions.

With just one year in orbit, the first FireSat satellite has already spotted wildfires invisible to existing satellites. After a successful launch early this morning, 3 more satellites joined the constellation, bringing us one step closer to our ultimate goal of near real-time wildfire updates every 20 minutes.

Just off stage at #GoogleIO, some highlights from this morning 🧵

Gemini 3.5 Flash is available today for everyone in @antigravity and across our products and APIs.

Compared to 3.1 Pro, 3.5 Flash is better across almost all benchmarks with huge progress in coding. It’s also comparable to the best models but very fast (4x faster tokens/ second than other frontier models). And when looking at the intelligence versus output speed, it’s in a league of its own in the top right quadrant.

Google Cloud has incredible momentum: our models now process 16B+ tokens /min via direct API use by our customers (up from 10B last quarter).

This week at Cloud Next we’re sharing an extraordinary range of new partnerships and innovations, including our new Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, the new mission control to build, scale, govern, and optimize agents. We’re also launching our 8th-gen TPUs to take on the most demanding agentic workloads.

We trained a new flood forecasting model designed to predict flash floods in urban areas up to 24 hours in advance.

To help address a flash floods data gap, we created Groundsource: a new AI methodology using Gemini to identify 2.6M+ historical events across 150+ countries.

We’re open-sourcing this dataset to advance global research, and urban flash flood forecasts are live now in Flood Hub to help communities stay safe.
