The United Nations warns that the war in the Middle East could erase the economic growth of Arab countries from last year and lead to a severe contraction of the Iranian economy. A report from the United Nations Development Programme indicates that the region's GDP is expected to decline by 3.7% to 6.0%, resulting in losses of approximately $120 billion to $194 billion, which could exceed the entire economic growth of the region by 2025. The report also shows that Iran's GDP may decline by 8.8% to 10.4%, pushing 3.5 million to 4.1 million people into poverty, with the poverty rate potentially rising to 41%

United Nations: The Middle East war may engulf Arab countries' economic growth in 2025

Crude oil exports from Yanbu have doubled in just over two weeks. It is estimated that even if Yanbu's exports reach the target level, they will only compensate for about half of the Persian Gulf's export losses this month, and the overall export volume will still be about 2 million barrels per day lower than before the conflict

- The global energy transport landscape is rapidly changing due to ongoing disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, as Saudi Arabia significantly increases crude oil exports through the Red Sea to mitigate supply impacts from Middle Eastern tensions.  
- Despite doubling the export capacity at Yanbu port in just two weeks, this adjustment will only compensate for about half of the losses from Persian Gulf exports, with around 56 million barrels of Saudi oil still stranded in the Gulf.  
- The long-term trend indicates a shift in global energy supply chains from prioritizing efficiency to prioritizing security, highlighting a revaluation of strategic risk associated with critical chokepoints like Hormuz.
