The overall composite PMI index also rose to 58.2, indicating robust private sector activity.

- India's service sector experienced accelerated growth in April, rebounding from a 14-month low in March, driven by strong domestic demand despite a slowdown in global orders.  
- The S&P Global/HDFC Bank India Services PMI rose to 58.8 in April from 57.5 in March, indicating ongoing economic expansion.  
- However, optimism for the coming year declined due to uncertainties related to the Middle East, even as new business growth reached a five-month high.
