China Shares May Crack Resistance At 4,200 Points

During the 2026 May Day holiday, China saw 325 million trips, a 3.6% increase YoY, with total spending reaching RMB185.492 billion, up 2.9% YoY. Cultural centers organized 49,400 events, attracting 88 million visits. Nighttime cultural consumption clusters recorded 80.4 million visits, a 6.44% increase. Additionally, 32,000 commercial performances generated RMB2.476 billion in box office revenue, up 14.66% YoY. Local authorities distributed over RMB284 million in consumption vouchers to boost consumer activity.
