Ascott, a unit of CapitaLand Investment, is closing its hospitality training centre in Newton and laying off six staff members. The Ascott Centre for Excellence (ACE) will stop its Continuing Education and Training (CET) programmes from June 1, coinciding with the expiry of its lease. Ascott is collaborating with the Food, Drinks and Allied Workers Union to ensure compensation for the affected employees and is providing outplacement support through NTUC’s e2i.
