Olam Group shares rose over 8% after receiving regulatory approval to divest a 44.58% stake in its agribusiness unit, Olam Agri, to Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (Salic) for US$2.6 billion. The stock traded at S$0.95, peaking at S$0.965 during the day. The first tranche of the sale is expected to complete in Q4 2025, pending shareholder and regulatory approvals, increasing Salic's stake in Olam Agri to 80.01%.

Olam shares rise 8% following regulatory approval to divest partial stake of agribusiness unit

Olam Group has received regulatory approval to sell 44.58% of its agribusiness unit, Olam Agri, to Saudi Agriculture and Livestock Investment Company (Salic) for US$1.8 billion. This sale is part of a larger plan to divest Olam's remaining stake in Olam Agri, valued at US$4 billion. The first tranche is expected to complete by Q4 2025, increasing Salic's ownership to 80.01%. Olam will sell the remaining 19.99% stake within three years through a call/put option. Olam shares rose 1.1% to S$0.89 before the announcement.
