Context : I bought a S-REITs ETF yesterday because I wanted exposure to a diversified basket of Singapore REITs and a longer-term income-focused investment. Shortly after buying, the price fell, which is never comfortable to see immediately after entering a position.
My Trade : I opened a position in the S-REITs ETF and, despite the short-term decline, I’m choosing to hold rather than react emotionally to the price movement. My focus is on the longer-term investment thesis rather than one day’s price action.
Takeaway : Next time, I’ll remind myself that short-term price movements are normal and avoid judging an investment based on what happens immediately after I buy.
