The Monthly Labour Survey, a key economic indicator, reflects average monthly earnings and is crucial for assessing household purchasing power and influencing Bank of Japan's monetary policy. - Japan's monthly labor survey by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare tracks average monthly cash income, revealing a nominal growth of 2.4% in December, with actual cash income increasing by 1.4%.  
- Despite positive spring wage negotiations exceeding 5% growth, real wages adjusted for inflation have declined monthly throughout 2025, with a 0.1% decrease in December.  
- This persistent gap between wages and inflation complicates the Bank of Japan's consideration of further interest rate hikes, as sustained wage growth is crucial for supporting household income.
