The market is so volatile right now. Yesterday, my local tech stocks were still doing fine. Today they plunged again. Is it because of the DRAM price fixing class action suit or just a response to the likelihood of interest rate hikes?

The rise of the STI has become a steady trend, which is undoubtedly a healthy and stable development process for the Singapore stock market.

The market is so indecisive and the short term money is just chasing momentum looking at how capital keeps rotating around. Once these ‘traders’ are shaken out, then will the market go higher.

Imagine A buying coffee beans from B and C for itself and then decide to sell the same coffee beans to others when it realised it actually can make money from the beans that it does not need (for now). Suddenly A is worth more than B and C? Haha….the market is irrational.

The memory hype would more likely than not continue for a period of time. Supply bottleneck is not something that can be easily solved within weeks, especially with more demand coming in. However, I believe the memory companies have been overhyped, with traders trying to capture the best selling point by pumping while others fomo in. I intend to go with the safer alternative route through compounding rather than chasing.

Fed Chair Warsh is advising Wall Street to stop looking to the Fed for interest rate clues and focus instead on real economic data.

i'm not chasing anything into tonight's jobs print. Warsh made it pretty clear rates aren't coming down, and a hot number could hit the whole AI-infra trade again. keeping powder dry, the memory dip can wait.

with regards to memory getting torches, I have written 6 days earlier that the "piranhas will have a good time feasting till the next deep seek moment".... now we get to see the robustness and steadfastness of the memory trade.

Chips at 19.7% of the S&P screams concentration risk. If Burry’s right about an AI bubble, Nvidia, Tesla, and Caterpillar could get hit hard. I’m trimming into the euphoria and waiting for a cleaner entry after payrolls/data.

What a quarter! The middle east peace deal was right on time which led to the unwinding of safe haven assets back into risk on AI trades.
