Switzerland's Federal Statistical Office announced that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.6% YoY in May, below market expectations of a 0.8% increase; on a MoM basis, it rose 0.2%, also below expectations of a 0.3% gain.Excluding fresh food and seasonal products, energy and fuel, Switzerland's core inflation in May increased 0.3% YoY and 0.1% MoM.The Swiss franc edged up nearly 0.2% during the Asian session, trading at 1.2640 against the USD. USDCHF extends higher and tests 100/200 hour MA

USDCHF trades to new highs going back to  April 30

On May 19, the U.S. Dollar Index fell by 0.09% to 99.192. The euro strengthened to 1.1637 dollars, while the British pound rose to 1.3411 dollars. The dollar increased against the yen to 159.01, but weakened against the Swiss franc at 0.7856. The Canadian dollar slightly rose to 1.3749, and the dollar fell against the Swedish krona to 9.4093.
