SK hynix dropped 15% in one seoul session over the HBM4 slip to Q3. is this the first real crack in the memory trade or just a shakeout before earnings on the 29th? honestly cant tell anymore
SK Hynix had its worst day ever in Seoul, down 15% in one session, and it barely made the SG news. same memory supercycle everyone loves, but the second ASP growth slowed the stock got wrecked. lesson: those locked HBM contracts cap how fast earnings can jump when demand runs hot 😮💨

Jul 20 | Dolphin Research Focus: 🐬 Macro/Industry — HKEX is evaluating a trading-hours reform, planning to scrap the current 12:00–13:00 lunch break and extend the overall session length. The proposal remains in the study phase, with market feedback to be solicited from brokers and institutions.
The objective is to increase overlap with US/EU and onshore A-share trading windows. HKEX also seeks to enhance Hong Kong market liquidity and global competitiveness.Near term, the headline is positive for HKEX. However, longer hours would raise staffing and ops costs for brokers and asset managers, and there is still debate over whether it can materially lift turnover in the medium to long term...
$Sandisk(SNDK.US) / $Western Digital(WDC.US) / $Seagate Tech(STX.US)
SanDisk and memory names got hit in the semi unwind. SK Hynix and Samsung are under pressure too. The market is pricing in slower HBM expansion and cheaper AI alternatives from China. Memory stocks are the purest expression of that fear. We have to wait until when they start basing.
watching the SK Hynix bargaining-power debate closely. bears say once AI firms sign long-term HBM deals the memory makers lose pricing leverage. maybe, but that's a 2027 problem and the shortage is acute right now. i play it through $Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM.US)$ so the single-name whipsaw doesn't wreck me. this dip is a trim-and-hold for me, not a sell.
$Micron Tech(MU.US) $SK Hynix(SKHY.US)The AI trade is not only about GPUs.As AI servers scale, market attention is moving into HBM, DRAM, NAND, SSD, advanced packaging and semiconductor equipment.SK Hynix remai...

AI stocks are still leading global markets, but the rally is uneven and fragile. Corrections are healthy - they shift the narrative from scarcity premium to fundamentals. Therefore, my take is that:
Selective positioning is critical : Focus on companies with sustainable demand, such as those stocks in which I have already highlighted this week, as I am too are holding them for the eventual growth basis what I understand from their stories.
Strong balance sheets, and proven execution such as I have did for
$SK Hynix - WI(SKHYV.US)
It popped downward spiral but goes up to show us they cannot failed as per their claim. It is a reputation to call for who you are said to be.
So, we bet and is proven last session.
Good luck moving onwards and upwards.
Always listen to your own basis of understanding and stood firm for it.
Don’t be influenced by others including myself.
Cheers!
☕️ [Task Coins Giveaway] Daily Market Talk — Cool CPI Lifts Chips, IBM Craters 25%
Inflation finally broke the market's way. June CPI cooled hard to 3.5%, the biggest monthly drop in six years, gutting July hike odds and sending chips flying. But it was a split tape: JPMorgan and Go...
SK Hynix ADR went vertical, +27% in a day, US premium now ~51% over the Seoul shares as options started trading. Barclays Overweight, 12-layer HBM4 in mass production, Korea's $531B AI budget behind it. this is the HBM king and Wall Street just woke up to it. i play memory through the basket $Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM.US)$ rather than chase a +27% single-day candle though.
i love the memory story but a +27% single session on SK Hynix with the ADR now trading 51% above the Seoul-listed shares is froth, not value. the HBM4 and Korea AI budget news is real and bullish, but paying a 51% premium for the same company because US options just launched is how you buy the top. i hold the $Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM.US)$ basket, not chasing that premium.
$XL2CSOPHYNIX(07709.HK)$SK Hynix(SKHY.US) The US ADR is already at a 50% premium compared to the underlying stock, that's just absurd, absolutely absurd. Some people are shorting the ADR and going long the underlying stock, they're going to have a tough time now.
$SK Hynix(SKHY.US) is really exciting!

Neat. Roar like a King now🤴👑🍷🔥💃
$SK Hynix(SKHY.US) | Barclays 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 coverage on 𝐒𝐊 𝐇𝐲𝐧𝐢𝐱 with an 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 rating and a 𝐏𝐓 𝐨𝐟 $𝟑𝟑𝟎
Analyst initiates coverage on the ADRs, seeing materially higher 2027 revenues driven by HBM pricing uplift and SKHY's strong market position.
US SK Hynix stock drop by 9% and the Korea counterpart dropped by 15.37% just in Monday. The dropped was so severe that now the Kospi has entered a bear market, dropping 20 to 30% from it highest record. This is despite that it is still the world best performance stocks market. Analyst sees that SK Hynix won't have so much bargaining power when selling High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) to AI companies who will sign long term agreement to secure stock and tame price fluctuation. This is unlike the DDR ram that is determined by market forces and it's price has rocketed 3 to 4 times. Some analyst are beginning to advice that investor who has profited to the recent AI boom to exit their position and switch to healthcare or some other conventional industries.$SK Hynix(SKHY.US)

memory getting wrecked again and i keep hearing "golden pit". maybe. but $Micron Tech(MU.US) broke $1000 the same week SK Hynix fell 15% in Korea, and CPI plus five bank earnings land tonight. that's a lot of falling knives at once. i trimmed into the last bounce and i'm sitting in cash waiting for the CPI dust to settle before touching memory.
SK Hynix down about 9% in the US, near its $149 IPO price, four days after the biggest foreign listing ever 😮💨 the trigger was a brokerage note saying Q2 profit lands ~8% below consensus on HBM contract limits. i play memory through the basket $Roundhill Memory ETF (DRAM.US)$ not the single ADR, exactly to avoid this kind of single-name whiplash. holding, not adding into CPI night.
$SK Hynix(SKHY.US) That's it for two trading days...

Jul 13 | Dolphin Research Watchlist: 🐬 Macro/Industry. US–Iran tensions continued to escalate, with multiple US airstrikes on Iranian coastal military sites.
Iran retaliated by hitting US bases in Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE, and announced an indefinite closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said traffic through the waterway remains open. The strait carries nearly 30% of global seaborne crude, and the conflict has lifted oil prices and stoked inflation fears. Near term, risk-off is rising, favoring crude and tanker plays.A prolonged standoff could suppress global risk appetite and raise vol for high-multiple tech growth stocks. Keep tracking any resumption of navigation...
$Intel(INTC.US) down another 2.4% to 110 while SK Hynix debuts +14% and NVDA hits new highs. that contrast is the whole story: the memory and AI leaders are eating, Intel is still the one getting left behind. 18A is the only thing that matters and it keeps slipping. i trimmed weeks ago and i'm not touching it until the turnaround shows up in actual numbers. dead money at best.
