$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)This position is still in the red, and I’m definitely not happy about it. The post-earnings selloff hit harder than I expected, and the market is still digesting the valuation despite NVIDIA continuing to execute well.

I’m not averaging down or panic selling here. The original reason I bought hasn’t changed. AI demand is still strong, and I believe NVIDIA remains one of the biggest beneficiaries over the next few years. The only thing that changed is the market’s sentiment in the short term.

I’ll continue to hold and let the story play out. If the business fundamentals change, I’ll reassess. Until then, this is simply the price of investing in high-growth companies—volatility comes with the opportunity.

What a week it has been. This is what sentiment is. At the top, everyone wants to buy. Down here, no one wants to buy. But prices are much cheaper here. Thats how trends are also. Not many has the courage to do things using their own thought process.

NVIDIA ($NVIDIA(NVDA.US)) continues to dominate the AI chip market, commanding an estimated 80% to 90% market share for enterprise AI hardware. The company’s proprietary CUDA software ecosystem creates a massive competitive moat, locking in developers and making it incredibly difficult for rivals like AMD or Intel to displace them. As tech giants continue their multi-billion-dollar capital expenditure cycles to build out next-generation data centres, demand for NVIDIA’s Blackwell and Hopper architecture remains exceptionally robust.

Financially, NVIDIA remains a powerhouse, though hyper-growth expectations introduce elevated volatility for investors. The company consistently delivers blockbuster revenue growth and exceptional gross margins, driven by its high-margin data centre segment. However, maintaining this parabolic growth trajectory becomes harder as year-over-year comparisons toughen, meaning even slight guidance misses can trigger sharp, short-term stock corrections.

Looking ahead, the main debate centers on the sustainability of global AI infrastructure spending. Bulls argue that we are only in the early innings of a multi-decade technological revolution spanning autonomous vehicles, robotics, and generative AI. Bears caution that if software companies fail to monetize these costly AI features soon, hyperscalers may scale back their hardware orders, leading to a cyclical downturn for chipmakers.

Standard Chartered Bank Hongkong stocks profit rose. Though AI trading becomes the trend, I wonder on the businesses purposes.

Markets are entering a high-volatility window with economic data, earnings, and geopolitical headlines all colliding. I’m keeping more cash on hand and waiting for higher-conviction setups instead of reacting to every headline.

Chairman Kevin Warsh struck a clearly hawkish tone after the meeting:

He repeatedly said that the inflation is "still too high" and he will not accept inflation staying above 2%

He also pushed back firmly against market hopes for rate cuts and ruled out any plan to raise or soften the inflation target

Barclays has called the current outcome a "hawkish pause" and this will likely make markets price in a higher chance of rate hikes ahead.

Hence bad for REITs and good for bank stocks.

Boeing after suffering from the 737 Max 2 fatal crashed (2018 and 2019) and door plug issue which caused a blown door in mid air (2024) is slowly climbing back from his deepest crisis in quality control. The latest earnings Q2 2026 show an encouraging performance with rising revenue US$24.6 billion but profit missed expectations due to the cost overruns amounting to US$280 million of the yet to be delivered Air Force 1 for POTUS. Boeing won the contract for building 2 Air Force 1 with price tag of US$3.9 billion (2018) but it seems that they miscalculated the cost and has to bear every dollar of cost exceeding the contract price.
