🌟🌟🌟This week, Wall Street reminded everyone of a brutal truth: No king keeps the throne forever, not even $NVIDIA(NVDA.US). For months, NVIDIA has been the market's heartbeat - the AI golden child, the stock that could do no wrong. Every headline was about GPUs, data centres, trillion dollar cap jumps, and Jensen Huang's unstoppable empire.

Then $Apple(AAPL.US)walked in and overtook NVIDIA to become the top stock of the week.

Why Apple surged: The market loved Apple's renewed AI strategy. iPhone demand stabilised. Service revenue hit fresh highs.

But here is the twist. NVIDIA did not fail. It evolved. The OpenAI financing news wasn't weakness. It is a sign of dominance. It is NVIDIA saying: We are not waiting for demand. We are engineering it.

A USD 250 billion backstop is not a loan. It is a declaration and a promise that the AI future will be powered by NVIDIA silicon, NVIDIA systems and NVIDIA vision.

Yes the risks are real, the scale is enormous. NVIDIA is stepping into a bigger arena. It is company that knows its chips will be the backbone of the AI revolution.

Two Tech Titans. This week Apple took the crown but the fire still belongs to NVIDIA.

Though Nvidia lowers and there is tension between US and China over AI due to lack of factual and legal basis, S&P and Dow shares increases and Apple becomes the most valuable company again. This feels like companies’ battle to survive and live.

i think investors are getting a bit more cautious as seen by NVDA’s fall and the weakness in memory stocks which suggest the AI trade may not be as straightforward as before. adding on CXMT’s debut to add more pressure and the market may now be looking more closely at who can still hold margins and pricing power.

If Nvidia has to backstop $250B just to keep OpenAI buying GPUs, demand isn’t organic. That’s Enron-style off-balance sheet vibes. Memory chipsu cratering with SK Hynix under IPO price confirms we overbuilt. Oil crashing kills the inflation hedge trade too. Apple reclaiming the market cap crown isn’t random — capital is rotating back to actual cash flow.

Hardware stocks crash with Nvidia slipping 5% on reports that they would be financing OpenAI's data centre. Capital rotate into software stocks as people starts taking profits on chip stocks, while Sk Hynix officially drops below IPO price. In my opinion, this is only a temporary situation in today's market. A positive macro news like "potential ceasefire" would send these higher beta stocks straight up again. Let's see how far the pullback will go this time round before rebounding.

Memory getting smoked with SK Hynix ADR under IPO shows the supply glut is real. Add oil crashing and yields likely dropping, and the whole “AI + inflation” story falls apart. King NVDA just got dethroned for a reason.

US equities finished little changed, masking notable weakness in semiconductor stocks. Nvidia’s sharp decline reflected investor concerns over its reported financing discussions with OpenAI and increased scrutiny of valuation, allowing Apple to regain the largest market capitalisation. Broader memory-chip stocks also weakened as investors assessed potential pricing pressure from expanding Chinese DRAM supply. The session highlights continued sensitivity of AI-related stocks to valuation, financing structures, and competitive supply developments.

Nvidia dropped 5% overnight trading, is it a signal that the investor started to worry the giant is going to fall ? or maybe just a healthy pull back.

Last night, Nvidia (NVDA) in the US stock market fell by about 5%, marking its largest drop since February. Due to the arrangement to provide a $250 billion financing guarantee for OpenAI's Ohio data center, investors are concerned that this arrangement constitutes circular financing between the two companies' financial reports, which could create a false market impression and trigger an AI investment bubble.

After a long period of stability, this minor event and reasonable correction have begun to appear; it is advisable to observe and cautiously add to positions.

Nvidia's share continues to fall further despite making announcements of AI and other stuffs. will hold or sell? for long term, i think still can hold but short term it is good to buy now.

The Nvidia pullback doesn't change my long-term view. A 5% drop after such a massive rally is normal, especially before the Fed decision and a week packed with Big Tech earnings. Markets are simply repricing risk, not abandoning the AI story.

I'm watching the memory sector even more closely. If SK Hynix and other memory names continue to sell off despite solid fundamentals, I'll see it as a chance to gradually add rather than panic. Demand for HBM and AI infrastructure still looks strong over the next few years.

For me, this week is all about execution. The Fed, Microsoft, Meta, Apple and Amazon earnings will matter far more than one day's price action. If the AI investment thesis remains intact, I'll stay patient and keep buying quality names on weakness.

☕ Good morning, Iguanas. SGX opens at 9 AM SGT. Here is what I am watching before the bell.

OVERNIGHT US SUMMARY

Wall Street closed mixed. The Dow added half a percent while the Nasdaq slipped a fifth of a percent, dragged lower by a sharp fall in Nvidia and AMD on worries over circular AI financing arrangements. Oil dropped hard as Washington and Tehran paused hostilities and resumed talks, which took some heat out of the broader market ahead of Wednesday's Fed decision.

SGX PRE-OPEN PULSE

STI closed at 5,620 points on Monday. MAS surprised the market yesterday morning with a second straight tightening of its currency policy, slightly steepening the Singapore dollar's appreciation path to lean against energy driven inflation. USD/SGD sits at 1.2914, Brent crude eased to about 85.87 US dollars a barrel overnight.

IGGY'S GAME PLAN

I am watching how the market digests a second consecutive MAS tightening this week, that is not a small move for a central bank that rarely surprises. Separately, MAS handed a three year prohibition order to a former REIT chief investment officer yesterday over unit price manipulation allegations from 2019 and 2020, worth a mention because it is exactly the kind of governance risk my forensic checklist tries to catch before the headlines do. I am not making any calls off either story yet, just noting them. What would change my read is if Wednesday's Fed decision surprises in either direction.
