Having taken profits and fully cleared my Intel position at higher levels previously, I recently revisited the company after an insightful discussion with a fellow peer. Despite ongoing semiconductor volatility, Intel’s current valuation after today’s pullback offers an acceptable entry point for a long-term turnaround play.

[My Strategy & Execution]

I initiated a new starter position today to begin rebuilding exposure. Managing entry risk is critical for swing positioning, so I am adopting a phased accumulation strategy rather than buying all at once. My current position is floating slightly in the green at +0.68%.

[Risk Management & Next Steps]

My plan is to stay patient and strictly follow my risk plan. If the market experiences further pullbacks, my designated second entry zone to average down will be around the $76 - $80 range.

Still holding NVIDIA and letting the investment play out. AI is still in the early stages, and I believe the demand for computing power will remain strong for years. There will definitely be volatility along the way, but I’m comfortable holding through the ups and downs for the bigger picture.

In another event, the world's central banking elite are packing their hiking boots for the Jackson Hole Economic Symposium where Fed Chair Kevin Warsh will be delivering a defining policy address.

What can investors expect:

Tech optimists are convinced that Wednesday will provide the ultimate fundamental validation to blast the S&P500 straight toward 8,500 by 2027.

If Jensen Huang takes the stage in his signature leather jacket and guides forward revenue into the stratosphere, the entire semiconductor sector will be ignited.

Conversely the Bears are not looking at GPUs. They are staring at the bond market. The US 30 year Treasury Bond yield is near its historic high of 5.33% in 19 years.

The Bears are betting that Kevin Warsh may give a hawkish speech with interest rates higher for longer due to stubborn inflation.

Nvidia’s earnings report this Wednesday has everyone on edge. Even with news circulating today about Nvidia GPUs hiking prices by 15%, I’m genuinely anxious. I actually cut losses last week instead of taking profits—that’s how worried I am!

I’m staying completely hands-off with the AI sector this week, and I‘ll likely just wait and see next week.

As for Friday’s Fed meeting minutes, will they soften their hawkish tone? Their tactics might shift, but changing their core hawkish posture is tough.

Sitting on the sidelines feels much safer right now. What’s your move?

Nvidia has confirmed it will release its FY2027 Q2 earnings report after the market closes on August 26th. The biggest question in the market regarding AI has now moved beyond simply stating "AI demand" to the next step: how fast can such massive capital expenditures continue to grow? Therefore, the key point this time is the absence of data center revenue, gross margin, guidance for the next quarter, and demand related to Blackwell/Rubin.

If Nvidia continues to provide stringent guidance, AI, optical communications, warehousing, and servers may all see further valuation increases. If the earnings are strong and guidance is initiated, then caution is warranted regarding the realization of gains after earnings season.

Nvidia's performance tonight could very well determine the final leg of the tech stock rally at the end of August.
